How to Get Lipitor Coupons

FInd My iPod - FTW!

I got an iPod Touch for Christmas. Whereas my previous iPod classic was a great portable audio devbice- I used it for music and audio-books, my iPod Touch is earning a place in many areas of my life. I log what I eat eaxh day with My Net Diary, stay organized with Remember the Milk, and am exposed to new music with Pandora Internet Radio. I can even find TV shows and use my iPod to change the channel with the X-Finity app. I know I've barely scratched the surface of available apps- my son's girlfriend tells me there is even an app to help you find free apps!

While there are many free apps available for the iPod Touch, my favorite function is built right into the device- all you need to do is set it up. Find My iPod allows you to track the iPod with a GPS chip. If you misplace it, you can search for it online, and have it's location displayed on a map. If the map shows its nearby (ie in the house, rather than the restaurant you were in last night), you can remotely send it a signal to make a sound- which will sound even if you had set it to silent. If it is at the restaurant, you can also have it make a sound-- AND display a message like "Please call my owner at 516-766-7282). How cool is that?

Writing Online

For the first 20 some odd years after college, I worked in corporate America. This provided me with some great experiences- a good income, the opportunity to travel the globe, and work with some awesome people. I was able to balance the corporate balance with small children, thanks to a great daycare support system, and accommodating employers. Several years ago, though, I found myself with school aged kids with lots of activities- and a mother and grandmother who needed support. I left the corporate universe, and became an official member of the sandwich generation.

I tried a few gigs to keep my hand-in -taking on contract finance projects and working in direct sales, and immersed myself in community volunteer work to keep my brain occupied. Three and a half years ago, i answered an add to write search results pages in the "Mahalo Greenhouse." I was instantly hooked- I could write about a wide variety of topics, learn about new things, AND GET PAID FOR IT. Mahalo has changed significantly since 2007 - the first pages were mostly about finding the best links- with short snippets of content. Current pages focus primarily on original content, backed up by authoritative sources. I'm no longer writing, but editing, which brings a whole new skill set to the forefront. Although the income is not was it was in my corporate years, I am now traveling the Internet world, and working with great people...so it's as if I've come full circle.

This Week on Mahalo

I've been managing Quality Control at Mahalo since July, which has enabled me to read lots of great information about different topics. Some of the pages I review I have only a professional interest in, some introduce me to to topics I would never learn about otherwise, but some tap into a true passion.

Some of the great Mahalo pages created this week include:

*Sergei Kostitsyn
*Jerred Smithson
*Nick Spaling
*How to Adjust Brightness on The iPad
*How to Set an Email Alert on Windows Phone 7
*Urdnot Wrex (Mass Effect)
*Four-Calendar Cafe
*How to Play a G6 Chord on Guitar
*How to Ask "Do You Watch Korean Dramas?" in Korean
*Call of Duty Black Ops Jungle Map Tips
*How to Change Notifications on The iPad

Freelance writers at Mahalo can create the topics for up to half of the pages they write themselves. This means that you are not restricted to a boring list of titles created for SEO purposes, the way you are on certain unnamed content sites. If you want to delve deeply into the Tudors- there's a place for you. If you are a sports fanatic- there's a place for you as well. You can write about what you love! If you're interested in becoming a freelance writer at Mahalo, and rediscovering your passion, you can apply here

Haggis for a Burns Supper

In 2010, after 24 years, the U.S. lifted the import ban on haggis.
Haggis is made by combining sheep heart, liver, and lungs, with onion, oatmeal, suet, and spices. This was a way for frugal Scottish farmers to use up all of the sheep. haggis is a traditional item served served at a "Burns Supper" to celebrate the life of Scottish poet Robert Burns. If you're planning on enjoying a haggis this January 25, you might want to recite Robbie Burns' "Ode Tae a Haggis" before serving it:

Fair fa’ your honest, sonsie face,
Great Chieftan o’ the Puddin-race!
Aboon them a’ ye tak your place,
Painch, tripe, or thairm:
Weel are ye wordy of a grace
As lang’s my arm

The groaning trencher there ye fill,
Your hurdies like a distant hill,
You pin wad help to mend a mill
In time o’need
While thro’ your pores the dews distil
Like amber bead

His knife see Rustic-labour dight,
An’ cut you up wi’ ready slight,
Trenching your gushing entrails bright
Like onie ditch;
And then, O what a glorious sight,
Warm-reeking, rich!

Then, horn for horn they stretch an’ strive,
Deil tak the hindmost, on they drive,
Till a’ their weel-swall’d kytes belyve
Are bent like drums;
Then auld Guidman, maist like to rive
Bethankit hums

Is there that owre his French ragout,
Or olio that wad staw a sow,
Or fricassee wad mak her spew
Wi’ perfect sconner,
Looks down wi’ sneering, scornfu’ view
On sic a dinner?

Poor devil! see him owre his trash,
As feckless as a wither’d rash
His spindle-shank a guid whip-lash,
His nieve a nit;
Thro’ bluidy flood or field to dash,
O how unfit!

But mark the Rustic, haggis-fed,
The trembling earth resounds his tread,
Clap in his walie nieve a blade,
He’ll mak it whissle;
An’ legs, an’ arms an’ heads will sned,
Like taps o’ thrissle

Ye pow’rs wha mak mankind your care,
An’ dish them out their bill o’fare,
Auld Scotland wants nae skinking ware
That jaups in luggies;
But, if ye wish her gratefu’ pray’r,
Gie her a Haggis!

Welker Steps in It

Bill Belichek made a statement today by benching Wes Welker for the first play of the Patriots- Jets game today. Trash talking the Jets is something of a state pastime in Massachusetts. Everyone gets involved, as a sort of "tribe bonding" experience. Kids do it on the playground, and corporate executives do it in boardrooms.

Wes Welker took it to a new level this week, talking it off the field and invoking the personal, in what's been referred to as the press conference where he put his "foot" in it. Last month, an Internet video surfaced in which, according to the Huffington Post, a woman who resembled Ryan's wife Michelle, was shown "displaying her toes to an off-screen cameraman who sounds a lot like the coach. The two are having an intimate chat about her feet." Ryan has declined to comment on the situation, saying it's "personal".

In what was to be a routine interview about the upcoming playoff game, Welker repeatedly made references to "feet", mocking Ryan. Belichek's response was to bench Welker for the first play of the game, preventing him from being listed as a starter. Was this a strong enough statement about inappropriate behavior, or just the equivalent of a rap on the knuckles?
